Preppin' Data Year Two
Preppin' Data started with a question from Jonathan at the coffee machine.
"It'd be great to have some challenges to practice Tableau Prep with, are there any?". At the time there weren't, and that's why we created Preppin' Data to allow people to learn self-service data preparation techniques, Tableau Prep and stay aware of the latest releases from the monthly updates from the Development Team at Tableau.
Jonathan and I certainly find it a challenge to keep the challenges fresh and different whilst handling everything in life too. Therefore, we are adding to the Preppin' squad this year with some familiar faces.
Tom Prowse is joining the Dr Preppers as an experienced Solution Master. Tom has been helping out creating some great solution posts recently and is a wonderful teammate to have. I was delighted when Tom said that he is happy to stay involved in the project this year (and hopefully beyond).
Also joining the team is the Queen of Video Solutions, Jenny Martin. Jenny sat down with me for a 1:1 a while ago and took on the idea of creating video solutions to the challenges so well that we want to wrap those solutions into the main blog rather than sitting alongside at https://www.dataprepsolutions.com. Jenny has also created challenges in the past including the pesky 2019 Week 17.
Jonathan and I really enjoy working with both Tom and Jenny, so we are all excited where the Preppin' project will lead to this year.
One unexpected place will be into a paper format - that's right, later this year I will be releasing Tableau Prep Up & Running through O'Reilly. The 'How too...' posts will form the backbone of the book and will aim to encourage people to try self-service data preparation themselves with Tableau Prep.
We are still at the beginning of something big with Tableau Prep and all four of us look forward to helping empower people with their data.
